We will always give you clear notice about these programs when you sign up, and participation in these incentives is voluntary and provided on an opt-in basis. If you change your mind, you may opt out at any time.
Under California law, our promotions and contests may be considered “financial incentives” provided in exchange for the collection of personal information. We are required to explain how the value you receive from these promotions and contests is reasonably related to the value we receive from the personal information that you provide to us. We use information about your energy usage to participate in the demand reduction market. The value of your energy conservation depends on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the location, time of day, grid conditions, and total amount of energy saved by a user. The value of the rewards that we grant to each user is based on the same factors, thereby correlating the benefits you receive with the value to OhmConnect from the use of your data.
