Katie is an award-winning journalist and digital strategist with more than 10 years of experience in print and digital media and a passion for the environment and fighting climate change. Prior to joining OhmConnect, she was a digital content strategist and writer for Environmental Defence and WWF-Canada. While envious of her colleagues in sunny California, she’s a Canadian at heart and lives with her husband in Toronto, Ontario.
Keith is the Program Director at Environmental Defence in Toronto, Canada. He was born in the ‘burbs, but his passion for the environment was born in a canoe on the rivers and lakes of Northern Ontario. He firmly believes that we cannot choose between the environment and the economy. We can and must have both.
Sophie Lubin is a Product Manager at OhmConnect. She focuses on improving the user experience, working to make the product more engaging and rewarding, and helping people love saving energy. Before joining the team, Sophie ran product and marketing at Scoot, an electric scooter company in San Francisco. Originally from Boston, Sophie has lived in the Bay Area for 7 years. She has a BA in Sustainable Development and English Literature from Columbia University.
Kyle is a content manager at PowerScout, an Oakland-based Solar Marketplace.
Lillian is a Project Manager at OhmConnect and she writes the energy policy content on Unplugged. Prior to OhmConnect, she worked at the California Energy Commission, where she managed innovative energy research contracts, and with Gap's sustainability team, where she ran their renewable energy efforts. Lillian has a Master of Environmental Science and Management from the Bren School at UC Santa Barbara and a BA in Geology from Brown University.
Matt Duesterberg is CEO and Co-founder of OhmConnect, which provides an energy sharing service for residential homes. OhmConnect pays users to save energy during hours when the grid needs load shifted. From prior experiences, Matt realized that a fundamental need within the energy industry was to bring expertise from outside the energy sector to solve problems that are common in other industries – such as consumer engagement, marketing, and software services. He has an MS from Stanford and a BS from UVA.
