# Opting Out of Energy-Saving Events

## If you're unable to take part in an OhmHour event, here is everything you need to know about opting out! 

We understand that life gets busy, and the commitment to take part in an OhmHour event isn't always possible. Rest assured, as an OhmConnect member, you are in control of which events you, and your linked smart devices, take part in. 

### Opting Out of OhmHours 

### Guidelines 

*   You can opt-out up to 15 minutes into an OhmHour event.   
      
    
*   Opting out will not impact your streak or status.   
      
    
*   You will neither earn nor lose Watts when you opt-out.   
      
    
*   Linked devices will remain in their existing state. We will not power down devices once you have opted out of an event.

### Option One: Day-Ahead Notification 

1\. Click the 'Opt Out' button on your day-ahead event notification. If your notifications are sent via SMS, click the link in the body of the message. If you receive notifications via email, please click the blue 'Event Details' button in the body of the email. See images below.

2\. Click 'Opt Out' on your Energy Events detail page.

### Option Two: Events Detail Page

1\. [Log in](https://app.ohmconnect.com/login) to your OhmConnect dashboard and navigate to your [Events page](https://app.ohmconnect.com/events).   
  

2\. Tap on the event that you plan to opt-out of, and then click "Opt Out" 

### Opting Out Of AutoOhms

AutoOhms occur in real-time, so given the short notice of these events, you are unable to opt-out. The good news is that AutoOhms do not impact your streak or status or give you negative Watts.

### Opting out Devices

Want to still participate in an OhmHour or AutoOhm but keep one key appliance up and running? No problem! Opt-out an individual smart device by navigating to the  Devices page and click on the device you wish to exclude.
