## How Rheem Works with OhmConnect!

_Note: We are experiencing issues connecting new hot water heaters to OhmConnect. Please check back later to try again._

OhmConnect links with Rheem through the EcoNet platform. When linked, OhmConnect does not directly control the water heater. Instead, OhmConnect sends an event signal to Rheem, and Rheem automates the device.

The water heater avoids running heating cycles, and after the event ends, it returns to normal operation.

This means the heater switches to a lower-energy mode and then restores your normal temperature settings once the event is over.

Your Rheem water heater can only be controlled by one energy saving program at a time.

### FAQ

* **Why does it say that there is an issue with my Rheem connection on the OhmConnect dashboard?** This is a known issue, and it will take some time to resolve. In the meantime, know that your Rheem water heater will not participate in OhmConnect events. If you’d rather, you can unlink it from your OhmConnect account.

* **Do I need to connect my Rheem water heater to OhmConnect to get the TECH rebate?** No, connecting your Rheem water heater to OhmConnect does not meet the eligibility requirements for the TECH rebate. You will need to enroll your water heater in a water heater rewards program, and you can find one for your zip code [here](https://www.switchison.org/techcleanca/water-heater-rewards).

* **I have a different question about the CA TECH rebate.** Please reach out to our team directly, and we can assist you further.

* **What water heaters does OhmConnect support?** At this time, we only support Rheem/Ruud water heaters.
