How to Add Your VOCOlinc Smart Plug to the VOCOlinc App

Follow these easy steps to add your VOCOlinc VP5 Smart Plug to your WiFi (2.4GHz) and the VOCOlinc App!

If your VOCOlinc smart plug is already connected to the VOCOlinc App, click here.


To note: If you are an Android user, please follow the steps below, however if you encounter any issues connecting your plug, reach out to VOCOlinc Customer Support. 


Before we get started, ensure you have the VOCOlinc app, which can be downloaded via the Apple App Store or Google Play, and follow the steps below. 


1. Open the VOCOlinc app. 


2. You may be prompted with two pop-up messages. Tap "Ok' to both. The first prompt allows the App to access HomeKit and control the smart plug. The second prompt will allow the app to discover your new smart plug and easily connect it to your Wi-Fi Network.


3. Click 'User' in the bottom right of the screen and then 'Sign Up' to create a VOCOlinc cloud account. If you already have a VOCOlinc Cloud account click "Log In' and enter your email address and password.


To note: Please make note of your email and password as you will need these to add your Smart Plug to the OhmConnect dashboard later.


4. Click 'Home' in the bottom left corner, and then tap the ➕ Add Device icon in the middle of the screen, to add your smart plug to your VOCOlinc app and Wi-Fi network. 




5. On the "Add Device" screen click 'Outlets' on the left side and then scroll down and tap the 'VP5 Smart plug'.




3. Check 'Operation confirmed' and click 'Next'.




4. Once on the "Add Accessory" screen hover your phone camera over the QR code located on the bottom of your smart plug (you may have to allow the app to access to your camera to proceed).




5. Once the QR code has successfully scanned, plug in your smart plug and click 'Add to Home' on the Outlet screen.


6. The "Connecting to Outlet" process can take a few of minutes, so hang tight!


7. On the "Outlet Location" screen, select the room that best describes where the new Smart Plug will be plugged in and click 'Continue'.


8. On the "Outlet Name" screen, please type a descriptive name (this will also be the name displayed in your OhmConnect dashboard) and click 'Continue'.


9. On the "Display As" screen, check 'Outlet' and click 'Continue'.


To note: If you encounter any issues during the above steps,  press the reset button to reset the smart plug as per the included VOCOlinc VP5 User manual. If you're still having difficulty, please click here to contact VOCOlinc support.
