## Connect your SCE utility account to Renew Home, the parent company of OhmConnect, and we will reward you for saving energy!

When demand on the grid is high, Renew Home, the parent company of OhmConnect rewards you for saving energy during OhmHour and AutoOhm events. Renew Home partners with select utility providers, such as SCE, who send us your energy usage via the data from your smart meter.

1\. Begin the utility connection [here](https://app.ohmconnect.com/signup/account).

2\. Login to your SCE utility account (see image below)

3\. Following this you'll be redirected to SCE's secure sharing page. Ensure that your account number and house address are correct before proceeding. This step is particularly important if you happen to have multiple addresses set up with SCE.

4\. Click "I agree to authorize" once you have read and understand the terms of your authorization. Following this, you will be directed back to your OhmConnect dashboard.

### To note:

* We do not have access to or store your utility credentials! So no need to worry about any issues sharing your credentials.

* After connecting your utility, there are a few things that need to happen on the back end, in order for us to reward you for saving energy. It can take up to 2 weeks for SCE to confirm your enrollment and begin sharing your utility meter data with us. In the meantime, familiarize yourself with the OhmConnect dashboard, take a look around the [Rewards Marketplace](https://app.ohmconnect.com/rewards), or checkout our [Blog](https://www.ohmconnect.com/blog) for energy-saving tips and tricks!

* If you have multiple addresses, select your current service address under the "select service account" drop-down.

* We are required by the state to receive and submit billing, meter, interval usage, program participation, and customer information to be able to pay you for reducing energy. This includes information regarding other energy efficiency programs you may have signed up for in the past, if you have a gas or electric account set up, the meter ID associated with your physical meter, how fast your meter collects your data, and historical data.
