Before the start of energy saving events, your OhmPlug will power down and stop providing power to the appliance or device it is connected to. Once the event is complete, your OhmPlug will power back on and resume providing power as it normally would.

1.  Open the OhmPlug app and tap the OhmPlug you would like to create a schedule for.  
      
    
2.  Tap **Schedule**.  
      
    
3.  Tap **Add** in the top right corner.  
      
    
4.  Select **Turn On** or **Turn Off** at the top, choose your time, days, and **Save**.  
      
    

### A few things to keep in mind:

*   You will need to create two schedules for the OhmPlug — one schedule to turn off and one schedule to turn back on at a certain time of day. This is the most hands free option!  
      
    
*   If you do not select a specific day for the schedule, the device will only power down or back on during the time you specified.   
      
    
*   After linking your OhmPlug to OhmConnect, your plug will automatically power down during our [OhmHour and AutoOhm events](https://www.ohmconnect.com/help/all-about-ohmhour-and-autoohms-logistics-SJ9NzcUEu). Schedules are a great ways to power down and reduce your energy use outside of energy-saving events.  
      
    **To note:** Schedules will override our event automation which can result in the device not earning [Bonus Watts](https://www.ohmconnect.com/help/understanding-your-watts-to-maximize-earnings-Hyabq8NO) (aka Device Watts)  
      
    

### How do I rename my OhmPlug?

1.  Open the OhmPlug app and tap on your OhmPlug from the My Home screen.  
      
    
2.  Scroll down and tap **Device Settings**.  
      
    
3.  To the right of Name, tap the blue **Edit** button.  
      
    
4.  Enter the new name for your OhmPlug and tap **OK**.  
      
    

### Why does my OhmPlug show as offline?

When an OhmPlug appears to be offline in the OhmPlug app, this indicates it’s either unplugged from the wall or not connected to Wi-Fi.

*   Ensure the Router is working properly  
      
    
*   Unplug the OhmPlug from the wall for 10 seconds and then plug it back in to refresh the connection  
      
    
*   Reconnect your OhmPlug to Wi-Fi in the OhmPlug app  
      
    
*   Ensure your OhmPlug is receiving a strong Wi-Fi signal. You can find this by tapping the OhmPlug from the My Home screen and **Device Information**

**Strong:** more than **\-50 dBm**

**Good to Average:** among -**70 dBm** to\*\*-50 dBm\*\*

**Poor:** less than **\-70** **dBm**

**To Note**: If the device signal strength is less than -70dBm, it is likely the signal is too weak, and you will need to relocate the OhmPlug closer to your router for a more stable Wi-Fi connection.  
  

### My Wi-Fi has changed, how do I update the app with the new network information?

First, ensure your phone is connected to your new home Wi-Fi network.

1.  Open the OhmPlug app and tap **Settings**.  
      
    
2.  Tap **Saved Wi-Fi**.  
      
    
3.  Tap **Delete**.  
      
    
4.  Return the My Home screen and tap the blue **+** circle in the top right corner.  
      
    
5.  Tap **Setup Wi-Fi**.  
      
    
6.  Ensure your phone is connected to your new home Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz band if separate) and select **Use this WiFi network**.  
      
    
7.  Enter your new Wi-Fi password and tap **Save password**.  
      
    
8.  Tap **\+ Add device** and follow the onscreen instructions to reconnect your OhmPlug to Wi-Fi.  
      
    **Pro tip (for iOS) to confirm your Wi-Fi password**: Navigate to Settings on your iPhone, tap Wi-Fi, then tap on your connected Wi-Fi network with the blue check mark. Near the top of the screen, tap the dots to the right of Password to reveal/copy your Wi-Fi password.  
      
    

### What does the light on my OhmPlug indicate?
