Northern California man wins major prize from Ohmconnect after friends thought program was a scam

The winner of Goal Zero Yeti Lithium 1000X Portable Power Station felt an extra level of glee when his name was called as our prize winner this month. Cody P. from Ione, California recently sent his referral link out to a number of his friends in hopes that they too would sign up to get rewarded for saving energy, to no avail. 

“I sent out invitations to my friends but they were all like ‘No - this sounds like a scam’”, he said with a laugh. “To win the prize felt like ‘Ha! In your face!’” 

Taking the cash prize and sitting at Platinum status, Cody thinks of OhmConnect as a game and is winning in more ways than one.

“We have a smart thermostat, thanks to Ohm,” he shared. “And we have smart plugs in a number of outlets throughout the house. Since the house is so old, outlets are few and far between so what we’ll do is put a smart plug in the outlet and attach a power strip to it. That way we can control pretty much all of our electronics and appliances from our phone.”
